A study in contrasts, the best of all worlds.

Robert Denholm House is an impressive Victorian mansion crammed with characterful period features. It is also an effective and technologically enabled workspace fit for ambitious, contemporary businesses.

Nestled in an idyllic rural setting, it offers inspiring views and 27 acres of tranquil grounds while being conveniently located for major road, rail, and air transport links. There is even a helipad.

During the week, it is an efficient place to do business, offering serviced and virtual offices, meeting rooms and on-site storage facilities. Come the weekend, it can transform into a versatile venue, providing a memorable and picturesque stage for large family celebrations, charity events and corporate functions.

A Brief History

Robert Denholm House was built as a family home in 1887 by James Hudson, who became High Sheriff of Surrey in 1890. He was renowned for hosting the local hunt with an ‘elegant champagne breakfast in the hall’.

The next owner was Mr CD Rudd, who founded the De Beers Mining Company and Consolidated Gold in South Africa with renowned colleague Cecil Rhodes.

The third owner was Henry Brandt, a merchant banker. He used the house as his family home and held community flower shows within the grounds. His nephew, Bill Brandt, was an internationally acclaimed society photographer.

At the outbreak of WW2, the house was requisitioned to become the headquarters and officers’ mess for the Royal Canadian Air Force. Post-war residents included members of Thomas Cook’s family, an order of monks and a manufacturer of wall planners.

In 1964, it became home to the National Christian Education Council and received a new name honouring Council’s General Secretary Robert Denholm.

We acquired the property in 1994 and embarked on a complete refurbishment to make it suitable as a serviced office, and meeting space fit for the approaching new millennium.

Our vision for the future

We’ve worked hard to create an aesthetically pleasing physical space, an efficient network of support services, and a positive social culture that benefits all our actual and virtual tenants. We have a reputation of being ethical, approachable, committed and go above and beyond to help our tenants succeed.

We will continue to nurture this spirit of trust and goodwill while investing in the continuous updating and improvement of the building and grounds. We’ll ensure that all offices are delivered to tenants in ‘as new’ condition and that all communal spaces continue to contribute positively to our tenants’ working lives.
