Whether you are planning a wedding, a large family celebration, a charity event, a product launch or any other corporate function, you need a spectacular venue, a convenient location and an experienced support team to ensure everything goes to plan and all your guests enjoy an unforgettable time. Choosing Robert Denholm House is a great way to start.

What makes RDH exceptional as an event space is the ability to treat it as if it were your own venue. We provide the blank canvas for you to create whatever you want, using whichever planners and suppliers you prefer. We don’t charge any corkage or supplier markup percentage. And we’ll clean up once the party is over.

What is on offer?

The building boasts three function rooms and has three outdoor marquee areas. The house can comfortably accommodate 250 guests, and the grounds are currently licensed to a maximum capacity of 5,000. There is parking for around 100 cars and even a helipad for glamorous arrivals and dramatic departures.

Indoors, our splendid main hall has elegant period features, making it a perfect venue for weddings and other grand occasions. For cosier, more intimate gatherings, our smaller reception rooms deliver all the ambience and atmosphere you could wish for. Outside, the picturesque setting provides a stunning backdrop to your event, with beautiful views over the Surrey Hills and ample space to make your occasion truly memorable.

We are happy to host any family or corporate event except 16 to 25-year birthday parties or ticketed music concerts, excluding charity events. Our indoor alcohol and music license is from 10:00 am until 12:30 am, 7 days a week, with an extension until 01:30 am at Christmas and New Year. Outdoors, our music and alcohol license ends at 11:00 pm. We have a Civil Ceremony license for 60 people in the Capenor Room.

Features such as confetti, fireworks, firepits or live-fire BBQ cooking are permitted subject to fire risk assessment approval and the correct insurance cover being in place. However, we accept no liability if such activities are undertaken.

For weekend weddings and family celebrations inside the house, we provide tables, Chiavari chairs with a choice of seat pads, a fully integrated sound system, use of our toilet facilities and access to the entire reception and rear terrace.

You will have use of our bar, chillers, and glasses, but you will need to supply the bar staff and drinks. You also have access to a kitchen that includes worktops, sinks, fridges, freezers, water boilers, microwaves, and toasters. However, your chosen caterers will need to provide their cooking equipment. Any damages or breakages will need to be paid for. We will remain on-site for the duration of the event to make sure everything goes to plan.

You are also responsible for organising additional decorations, DJs, disco lighting, dancefloors and other entertainment.

For corporate functions during the working week, we are happy to take care of everything, including catering, drinks, and any required entertainment. Tell us about what you would like, and we will provide a bespoke quote to match your requirements.

Access to the house will not be possible for external-only events, so you will need to supply marquees, portable toilets, catering and bar facilities, food and drink, tables and chairs, crockery, glasses, lighting, decorations, and entertainment. All waste, marquees, equipment, and vehicles need to be removed from the site by the end of Sunday; otherwise, additional costs will be incurred. All damages will also be charged for. We will remain on-site for the duration of the event to make sure everything goes to plan.

For corporate functions held outside during the week, we are happy to take care of everything, including catering, drinks, and any required entertainment. Tell us about what you would like, and we will provide a bespoke quote to match your requirements.

  • Weekend weddings and other family celebrations are DIY. We provide the location; you design the event using your chosen suppliers for catering, drinks, entertainment, and decoration
  • For corporate events, we can handle everything, including catering, drinks and entertainment. Each event package is bespoke, planned in conjunction with our clients and costed accordingly.

Event hire fees

Hire of the entire house: £3,500.00 + VAT
Hire of grounds: £2,000.00 + VAT

You are welcome to visit the site as often as you require during the planning phase and in the run-up to your event. We will always be on hand to answer any questions. And, subject to available space, we are also happy to accept deliveries in advance.
